OHCWC exhibiting at 34th Annual Primary Care Update to be held November 10-12, 2017 at the Doubletree Hotel—Downtown Tulsa.

Registration Open for 2019 Simulation Conference!

The 2019 OHCWC Simulation Conference, "Digging into Debriefing: Making Simulation Meaningful" will be May 21, 2019 at OSU-OKC in the Allied Health Building, 440 N. Portland Ave., Oklahoma City, OK.

During this Allied Health faculty development opportunity, Dr. Kristina Thomas Dreifuerst will guide participants through the process of using Debriefing for Meaningful Learning (DML). You will learn how to use DML to debrief students in simulation on campus and in traditional clinical settings off campus. Participants will have an opportunity to break into small groups for real "hands on" practice debriefing an actual scenario using DML. These breakout sessions will be facilitated by Dr. Dreifuerst and four of her colleagues.

The primary goals of the OHCWC are:

  • Ensuring Oklahoma’s education and training systems have the resources and support necessary to produce the number of health care workers needed;

  • Increasing the job satisfaction and retention rates of current health care workers;

  • Improving awareness among young people and adults available opportunities in health care, therefore, increasing the number of individuals entering a health career.

The OHCWC is housed in the OU Research Park, Oklahoma City. The organization is an affiliate of the Communities Foundation of Oklahoma, which represents 300 non-profit organizations and individual donors throughout the state.
